The Bull River Watershed Protection Project has been added to the Red Lodge Story Index.  The Story Index includes numerous profiles of efforts around the West where people arecoming together to tackle natural resource challenges with innovation and creativity. If you know of an effort or organization that should be included in the index, please contact us.

The Bull River Watershed Protection Project formed to protect one of the few remaining privately-owned parcels of land near the headwaters of the BullRiver. The project was an outgrowth of the Clark Fork Settlement Agreement, an unprecedented collaborative effort to relicense the Noxon Rapids and Cabinet Gorge dams. Operated by Avista Corp., the two dams power the Clark Fork Hydroelectric Project, which generates enough clean energy to meet the annual needs of 235,000 households.

California Rangeland Coalition Summit
January 8-9, 2009, Chico, California
Registration is now open for the 4th Annual Summit of the California Rangeland Conservation Coalition  scheduled for January 8-9 at California State University in Chico, California.  Register before December 31 for this educational and inspirational event that includes a full day of panel discussions with leading conservationists and a second day of touring the rangelands.
