New stories are being added to the Red Lodge Story Index about people coming together across the West to tackle natural resource challenges with innovation and creativity.  One of the new additions includes a story about  Shared Strategy for Puget Sound.

Shared Strategy for Puget Sound, a nonprofit organization, was conceived after the ESA listings in 1999 of Chinook, Hood Canal summer chum and bull trout.  These listings brought a growing crisis to the forefront of discussion in the Pacific Northwest. In response, Shared Strategy engaged local citizens, tribes, technical experts and policy makers to build a practical, cost-effective recovery plan endorsed by the people living and working in the watersheds of Puget Sound.

The U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution of the Morris K. Udall Foundation will be hosting its fifth National ECR Conference at the Doubletree Reid Park Hotel in Tucson, AZ -- May 20-22, 2008. Training events, panel workshops and associated meetings will take place throughout the week of May 19-23, leading into Memorial Day weekend.
